Culture Club Cancels US & UK Winter Tour Dates

November 11, 2014

(UPDATE) Culture Club has cancelled their UK and US tour this winter after the discovery of a polyp in vocalist's Boy George's throat. The band has stated they hope to reschedule the performances for 2015.

TicketIQ sends their well wishes to the legendary vocalist, and will update you with any news regarding the rescheduled Culture Club tour dates.

With Culture Club's highly anticipated 2015 reunion tour set to kick off this weekend, TicketIQ has taken a look into the current secondary market for the Boy George led UK outfit.

The average asking price on the secondary market is now $170.84, with each of the band's back to back shows at New York's Beacon Theatre seeing the biggest increase in ticket price this week – each jumping 5%.

The Beacon Theatre shows are the two most expensive dates of the tour, the November 25th performance taking the cake as the tour's priciest and 33% more expensive than night 2 on November 26th. Carrying significantly more secondary market inventory, the 26th was only added after the group sold out the November 25th date.

The cheapest date of the tour comes Friday, November 28th at the Trump Taj Mahal. As the only US performance with an average ticket price below $100 (currently $97.16), the Atlantic City show will certainly leave money in fan's pockets for gambling at the casino or partaking in the many Black Friday sales throughout the day. This date also features the cheapest overall tickets available for the tour, sporting a current “get-in” price of just $20.

For those on the west coast, November 19th's date at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles has seen the largest price decrease over the past week. With average asking price dropping 12% to $116.35.

After months of waiting, Boy George has finally come through on his promise the announcement of an official Culture Club reunion tour and new album. With more details coming this Thursday during Boy George's appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Culture Club tickets will go on sale this Friday.

The new album is expected to be released in 2015, and the group will debut many of the new songs along with their classics such as “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” during the 6 date (thus far) US trek this November.

The tour kicks off on November 15th in California at Rancho Mirage's Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa followed by two more Cali shows at Oakland's Fox Theater and LA's Shrine Auditorium. After few days off, the group stays on the west coast for one more performance at The Pearl in Las Vegas. The tour is then scheduled to conclude on the east coast with a November 25th concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and a Black Friday occasion at Etess Arena in Atlantic City.

Looking at the secondary market, the conclusion in Atlantic City has by far the highest get-in price of the bunch, at $197, but also has the least amount available. The Beacon Theatre has the lowest get-in but most tickets already on the market. We'll have a clearly look at demand once Friday's Culture Club tickets on-sale hits.
