Top 5 Indie/Alternative Concert Tickets of the Week (11/10)

This weeks concerts of artists that may fly under your radar include the fan favorite Alt-J at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Alt-rock band Anberlin is currently on their farewell tour and will be stopping at the Boston House of Blues this week on the 12th. Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice will play at the Apollo Theater in New York City on the 15th while Singer duo Tegan and Sara will play the Cascade Theater in California on the 13th. Andrew McMahon appears on this list for the second time with his show at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC.

11/16 - Alt-J at the Beacon Theatre Avg. Price: $547.06 | Get-in: $115

The indie band from the U.K. will play a much anticipated show at the Beacon Theatre on the 16th. The average ticket price is set high at $547.06 but fans can get in for as low as $115. The band recently released their sophomore album This is All Yours this year where it topped Billboard’s top rock and top alternative charts. Singer Mikky Ekko is supporting Alt-J on this tour.

11/12 - Anberlin at the House of Blues Boston - Limited Tickets Available

Anberlin released their seventh and final album Lowborn earlier this year. They are currently on their final tour as a band and are stopping at the Boston House of Blues on the 12th. Fans should expect to hear new songs but some older hits such as “Paperthin Hymn” and “A Day Late”. After this show they will Irving Plaza in New York city on the 13th and the 16th and the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia of the 15th.

11/15 - Damien Rice at the Apollo Theater - Avg. Price $336.67 | Get-in $136

The Irish singer who topped the charts ten years ago with his single “The Blower’s Daughter” is back on tour. Rice released his much anticipated third album My Favourite Faded Fantasy just last week, eight years after his last release “9”. The singer will play at the iconic Apollo Theater in New York City on the 15th. The average ticket price is $336.67 but the lowest get-in price is only $136. On the 14th Damien Rice will be at the Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago.

11/13 - Tegan and Sara at the Cascade Theater - Limited Tickets Available

Tegan and Sara the twin sister indie-pop duo from Canada are playing the Cascade Theater in Redding, California on the 13th. They will be supported by California natives WATERS and Canadian compatriots The Courtneys. The sisters released their seventh and markedly more electronic influenced album Heartthrob last year to much fanfare. Fans should not worry as they will hear older hits like “Walking With a Ghost” and “Back in Your Head”

11/15 - Andrew McMahon at the 9:30 Club - Limited Tickets Available

Andrew McMahon is back at it with a show at Washington DC’s 9:30 club on the 15th. The singer-songwriter will get behind his piano and not only show fans songs from his new solo record Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness but also songs from his previous acts Jacks Mannequin and Something Corporate. Though not quite the emo revival that has seen so many other bands reform this year fans will undoubtedly be delighted to hear songs new and old from McMahon.
