Rush 2015

Following a year-long break, Canada’s premier prog-rock outfit, Rush, look likely to return to life on the road in 2015 with the news of two North American shows were briefly made available online.

According to fan site Rush Is A Band, live dates at Boston’s TD Garden on June 23 and New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 29 recently surfaced on the official Ticketmaster website before being quickly taken down, prompting rumors that the trio are gearing up to launch a brand new tour.

The seven-time Grammy nominees, who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary with the release of R40, a ten DVD boxset featuring footage from their five previous concert tours, have already teased the possibility of a new live trek several times over the past twelve months.

Back in March, guitarist Alex Lifeson told Rolling Stone magazine that the group were aiming to stage a ‘real fan event’ in 2015, while frontman Geddy Lee told Radio.com in November that he hopes to ‘go out with a couple of new songs and revisit some old stuff’ in the near future.

Accompanied by an eight-piece string ensemble and a conductor, the band’s previous 72-date Clockwork Angels Tour treated those with Rush tickets to a whole host of fan favourites and rarities as well as US Hot 100 hits such as “The Big Money,” “Tom Sawyer” and “The Spirit of Radio.”

Fans hoping to get their hands on Rush tickets should therefore keep checking back on TicketIQ for the latest information on what is likely to be one of the must-see events on the prog-rock calendar.
