It’s never felt better to be a Los Angeles Kings fan. After the team took home its first Stanley Cup in 2012, it reached the Western Conference Finals two seasons ago and won another Stanley Cup last year.

Because of the madcap success, expectations are high in Los Angeles this season, much more than they were, say, five or ten years ago.

So far this season, the Kings have been solid but not extraordinary. They’re fourth in the Pacific behind the resurgent Canucks and surging Ducks, but they’re also facing a surprising challenge from the Flames. Defense has been the Kings’ backbone this season. The team has allowed the tenth fewest goals in the league and its goalies have put up the sixth best GAA.

Below are the Kings most expensive home games in 2015:

  • 1/28 vs Chicago Blackhawks | Average Price: $240.15 | Get-in: $56

Chicago looks like the team to best in the West right now. The Chicago Blackhawks are surging -- winners of 9 of their last 10 -- and Patrick Kane is scoring at a ridiculous clip. He has 14 points since Nov. 26. Because the Hawks are so strong this year, it’s not surprising to learn that their visit to the Staples Center in January is the most expensive home game there in 2015. Tickets on the secondary market to the match-up are $240.15 on average. The get-in price is a relatively paltry $56.

  • 3/7 vs Pittsburgh Penguins | Average Price: $210.91 | Get-in: $56

In the East, the Pens are on top at the moment. Evgeni Malkin’s 38 points are good for 2nd best in the league, and Sid the Kid’s 26 assists are also 2nd best in the league. Defensively, the team is stout as well; it’s given up the third fewest goals. Tickets to the Penguins-Kings in March are $210.91 on average on the secondary market. The minimum price you can pay to get into the tilt is $56.

  • 1/17 vs Anaheim Ducks | Average Price: $207.29 | Get-in: $72

If the Kings want to with the Pacific, it’s best they take all of their match-ups with the Anaheim Ducks, who are on a roll -- winners of 8 of their last 10, even without Corey Perry. Ryan Getzlaf has filled in nicely in Perry’s absence; he has 16 points since Nov. 29. The average price of a ticket on the secondary market to the Ducks-Kings is $207.29. The cheap seats are just $72 though.

  • 2/24 vs Detroit Red Wings | Average Price: $170.42 | Get-in: $45

The Wings are a bit all over the place -- 0-1-3 in their last four. Jimmy Howard simply isn’t getting enough support. In those four losses, the Wings have tallied just four goals. Tickets to the Red Wings-Kings are $170.42 on average on the secondary market. The minimum you can pay to get into the game is $45.

  • 1/8 vs New York Rangers | Average Price: $167.58 | Get-in: $47

Watch out for the Rangers. The team -- which has won four in a row -- is getting hot at just the right time. Rick Nash is looking like an MVP candidate and Henrik Lundqvist has allowed just six goals in his past four starts. The average price of a ticket to the Rangers-Kings on the secondary market is $167.58. The get-in price is $47.
