Steve Winwood Announces 2015 North American Tour
December 10, 2014
Having just completed a joint tour with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Steve Winwood will hit the road on his own next year following the release of dates for a nine-stop North American tour.
The 66-year-old will first take to the stage at Minneapolis’ State Theatre on April 17, and will then move onto the Chicago Theatre on Apr 18, Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre on Apr 19 and Detroit’s The Fillmore on Apr 21.
After stopping off at The Space at Westbury on Apr 23, the two-time Grammy winner will then visit Port Chester’s The Capitol Theater on Apr 24, New Brunswick’s State Theatre on Apr 27 and Baltimore’s Lyric Theatre on Apr 28, before wrapping up with a lone Southern date at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on May 2.
Fans with Steve Winwood tickets should look forward to hearing material spanning the entirety of his fifty-year career with recent shows featuring tracks from both his solo work (“Back in the High Life Again,” “At Times We Do Forget”), and his stints fronting British beat outfit The Spencer Davis Group (“Gimme Some Lovin’,” “I’m A Man”), psychedelic rockers Traffic (“Low Spark of High Heeled Boys,” “Light Up or Leave Me Alone”) and blues supergroup Blind Faith (“Can’t Find My Way Home,” “Had To Cry Today,”) as well as a cover version of Buddy Miles’ “Them Changes.”
Steve Winwood tickets are expected to go on sale to the public later this week, so be sure to keep checking back on TicketIQ for the latest information on the rock veteran’s forthcoming trek.
