With another week of NHL games to be played, the Blackhawks and Capitals are set to meet in this year’s Winter Classic Game and will serve as this week’s most expensive game. Arguably the biggest hockey event of the winter, this year’s Winter Classic will feature the Blackhawks and Capitals at Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C. on New Year’s Day. The average price for Winter Classic tickets is $461.47 and get-in price starts at $234 on the secondary market. This year’s Classic will mark the first time the game has been played in a baseball stadium since 2012, where it was held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
1/3/15 - Sabres at Rangers | Avg. Price: $417.37 | Get-in: $110
The Rangers will host the Sabres on Saturday as the second most expensive game this week. The average secondary price for Rangers vs Sabres tickets is $417.37. Get-in price for the game starts at $110. The Rangers are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak but will play two games prior to their matchup with the Sabres. Buffalo owns an Atlantic Conference-worst 14-19-3 record on the season to begin the week.

With second-place honors in the Pacific Division, the Canucks set to host the Red Wings at home on Saturday night. The average price for Canucks vs Red Wings tickets is $407.95 and get-in price is listed at $130 on the secondary market. The Red Wings sit in second place in the Atlantic Division and own a 19-8-9 record at the start of the week.

Prior to their meeting with the Capitals in this year’s Winter Classic, the Chicago Blackhawks will be at home to host the Predators on Monday. The team owns top honors in the Central Division with a record of 24-10-2 and has accumulated 50 points, trailing just the Ducks’ 54 for the league lead. Rounding off this week’s top-priced games is a matchup between the Red Wings and Boston Bruins at the TD Garden in Boston on Monday night. The Bruins have stumbled to begin their season, going just 18-15-3 over the season’s first three months. They’ll take on a Red Wings team that recently broke a six-game skid and looks to rebound at the top of the Atlantic Division.
