NFL: Preseason-Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals

With the NFL playoffs heading into the Divisional Round this weekend, excitement continues to build around Super Bowl XLIX on February 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. It will be the 49th edition of the title game and the second Super Bowl played in the 63,000+ capacity stadium, where the game was last held in 2008. Three weeks removed from the big game, Super Bowl odds favor the Patriots to represent the AFC and the Seahawks to defend their title from last season. Of course, Sunday’s game isn’t the only big-name event taking place in Arizona that weekend.

The week leading up to the Super Bowl is always filled with various fan events and music specials. The party gets started at this year’s DirecTV Super Fan Festival, which will run from Wednesday, January 28 to Friday, January 30. The festival will be held at the Pendergast Family Farm directly across from University of Phoenix Stadium and will feature performances from The Cadillac Three, Zac Brown Band and Sam Hunt. DirecTV Super Fan Festival tickets average at $1,265.18 and get-in price starts at $1,053.

Verizon will sponsor Super Bowl Central all week long starting on January 28. Over the five-day event, Downtown Phoenix will be transformed into an epicenter for all information needed on surrounding Super Bowl events. Verizon’s week-long endorsement will include free football-themed activities, a campus hub, and NFL and media sponsored events. An NFL Experience event will also be held at the Phoenix Convention Center, with games, displays, football clinics, and an autograph session from players being held all week long from Saturday, January 24 to Super Bowl Sunday.

The second installment of the Night Before Concert, which features many of country music’s biggest stars, will be held at the US Airways Center on January 31. Headlining the event are country stars Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Arizona native Dierks Bentley. The country music concert will wrap a star-studded lineup of performances hitting the Midwest at the end of the month.

Super Bowl weekend is one of the biggest fan spectacles of the year, and it appears that Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona won’t fail to disappoint. With just three more weeks remaining before two of the best teams take the NFL’s biggest stage, Super Bowl weekend is something worth experiencing for the football fan in everyone.
