Super Bowl Central will be downtown Phoenix’s epicenter for all things related to the big game this week. A variety of different events will be held over the next several days for fans in the area, including the Grand Canyon Experience, Phoenix Open, NFL Experience and even the Glendale Chocolate Affaire. Whether hoping to watch a few holes of professional golf in Scottsdale or stuffing your face with some of the world’s best chocolate, Phoenix will have it all as Super Bowl Fever invades the city.

Downtown Phoenix is a typical ghost town on normal nights during the year, but the massive fandom that the Super Bowl will carry with it will transform the city into one of the most sought-after destinations in the New Year. Inside Super Bowl Central, the Grand Canyon Experience will be one of the biggest attractions. The attraction is a giant rock wall set to the backdrop of the Grand Canyon. The wall features 20 climbing positions with a 20 ft. waterfall running through the middle. Tickets will be available at the venue and online for $5 for a climb.
For the more sports-savvy Phoenix-bound attendee, the NFL Experience will be offered at the Phoenix Convention Center all week long up until February 1. The event welcomes all fans to participate in games, displays, entertainment attractions and youth football clinics in a professional football environment. The NFL Experience keeps the active fan in mind – skills challenges are available and encourage kids to participate in the activities set up. A comprehensive display of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and entertainment stages are also available for fans to indulge in.

Several miles east, the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open will take place at TPC Scottsdale from Tuesday to Sunday. Some of the world’s best golfers will hit the links in the annual tournament, which plays four rounds of golf between Thursday and Sunday. Various charity and benefit events will be held in the days leading up to Thursday, including the Outfront Media Special Olympics Open and the Annexus Pro-Am Tournament. Tiger Woods makes his triumphant return to Phoenix this year as well, his first since 2002. The average price for WM Phoenix Open tickets is $150.51 on the secondary market. The most expensive day is the opening day of the tournament on Thursday with an average of $303.73.

For fans with a food pallette, the Glendale Chocolate Affaire will take place at Murphy Park in the heart of historic downtown Glendale on Friday and Saturday. Close to 40 chocolate vendors from around the world will take over Murphy Park and the event will have special activities geared toward the sports fan. Admission is free to attend both dates and chocolate will rule when heading down to the 20th annual Chocolate Affaire. Arts and crafts, face-painting and rock-climbing will also be offered for all who show up.
As downtown Phoenix gears up to welcome more than 1 million fans over the next week, there will be plenty of fun to be had around the area. From football skills challenges to chocolate eating contests, fans traveling to Phoenix can expect to get the most out of their Super Bowl experience this year.
