Hawks Tickets Are 30% Below Season Average For "Swipe Right Night"
January 6, 2015
The Atlanta Hawks are off to a really hot start this season and that doesn't change Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies during "Swipe Right Night". In partnership with Tinder, the Hawks are offering the opportunity for fans to "Find Their Match" during the battle of NBA heavyweights. With an average price of $74 and a current get in of just $13, this seems like a bargain for any Hawks fan who is looking to meet Mr. or Ms. Right and maybe see Kyle Korver rain some 3's.

This is a ticket promotion for a team that has been playing very well this season. Atlanta is 26-8, good enough for first place in the Southeast division. The Hawks are also 14-3 at home, though they average 3.3 more points on the road. Even with the home and overall success, Atlanta is just 25th across the NBA in total attendance.
Atlanta’s game against Memphis will be the least expensive game at Philips Arena in January on the secondary market. All eight other home games have an average price of at least $100, with the next least expensive game listed at a $116.34 average price for a January 28 game against the Brooklyn Nets.
This is a really unique idea by a sports team trying to play matchmaker at a game, but even with that, prices on the secondary market remain fairly affordable. New York-based radio host Craig Carton made the suggestion that the New York Mets should think about a game like this as well. Could the Hawks be on to something? You could say this is social media night on steroids.
