Ohio State Raising Ticket Prices For Football Games Against Michigan State and Penn State
January 28, 2015
Coming off a National Championship, it’s no surprise there will be high demand for Ohio State football tickets in the 2015-16 season. Ohio State itself is cashing in on some of that demand and raising the face price for the two biggest home games at Ohio Stadium next season. Those games will be a October 17 game against the Penn State Nittany Lions and a November 21 game against the Michigan State Spartans.
Tickets for the Michigan State game will be $150, while tickets against the Nittany Lions will be $125. Both prices are currently pending OSU trustees’ approval in accordance with a premium pricing system put in place in 2013.
Unsurprisingly, those two games are also the two most expensive home games on the secondary market. Both games will see significantly higher secondary market prices than the price of the increased face value. Currently, the average price for Ohio State vs Michigan State tickets on the secondary market is $361.66 with a get-in price of $191. The Penn State game does not fall far behind as the average is currently $337.33 with a get-in price of $161.
The Ohio State used premium pricing to increase the face value for two home games last season as well. A ticket for the home game against Michigan cost $150 at face value and the home opener against Virginia Tech was $110.
The six other home games on the 2015-16 Ohio State football schedule will be $79 at face value.
