This weeks top concert tickets in indie and alternative music feature a wide array of acts. On January 7th The Psychedelic Furs will be at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. On the 8th Future Islands will be at Terminal 5 in New York City. On the 9th also in NYC Dr. Dog will be at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn as part of their residency. Also on the 9th Mac Miller will be at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado. Finally on the 10th the 6 Rounds of Punk show featuring the Misfits, Dead Kennedys and more will be at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

1/9 Dr. Dog at the Music Hall of Williamsburg - Limited Tickets Available

Dr. Dog will be playing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York on January 9th. This is the first night of a mini four night residency for the indie rockers all to be held in Williamsburg. Dr. Dog last released their album B-Room in 2013 in much acclaim. This show will be accompanied by the band Twain on this show followed by different opening bands for the rest of the residency. The Districts on the 10th, Elvis Perkins on the 11th, and mewithoutYou on the 12th.

Indie rapper Mac Miller will be playing at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado this week on the 9th. The rapper put out his eleventh mixtape overall Faces in 2014 to much fanfare. This followed the 2013 full length Watching Movies with the Sound Off. Mac Miller will also play this week on the 8th at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado and on the 10th at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Electro-indie Future Islands will be playing at Terminal 5 in New York City this week on the 8th. The show at this Manhattan venue has an average ticket price of $67.87 though fans will be able to find tickets for as low as $39. Future Islands really broke through last year with the release of their album Singles. This show in the 8th is the first of two in NYC as the band will play Terminal 5 again on the 9th. The band who has been around since the 70’s and has not put out new material since 1991’s World Outside still attracts fans in droves. The Psychedelic Furs will also be hitting New York City on the 11th at the Highline Ballroom.

This week on January 10th, The “6 Rounds of Punk” show comes to the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, right across the border from Omaha, Nebraska. This show features performances by the Misfits, Guttermouth, Strung Out, and the Dead Kennedys. The show has an average ticket price of $48, not far off from the lowest get-in price of $42. The Misfits haven’t put out new material since 2011’s The Devil’s Rain but fans should hear plenty of classic older songs as well. Strung Out will have a new album coming this year called Transmission Alpha Delta.
