It’s a feat that has only been accomplished by Harry Statham and Danny Miles, and Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski is now just one win away from cementing the 1,000th victory of his illustrious coaching career.

After beating Pittsburgh at home last night, Duke’s next game will be played against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden this Sunday, giving the beloved coach the opportunity to reach that milestone at the World’s Most Famous Arena in the heart of New York City. Don’t expect to get in cheap, however, as ticket prices have increased significantly over the last 24 hours.

St. John’s vs Duke tickets on TicketIQ now average at $373.64, which is up 42% from yesterday’s average of $263.12 prior to Duke’s win at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Sunday’s cheapest seat at The Garden is now $103, rising 63.5% from yesterday’s get-in price of $63.

While Statham and Miles have recorded more wins over their coaching careers, Coach K is the NCAA Division I’s most winningest coach. Only Jim Boeheim and Bob Knight have entered the prominent 900-wins club, but Krzyzewski has nearly 40 more wins than Boeheim’s 961. Krzyzewski  began his coaching days with the Army Cadets from 1975-1980, where he established himself as a prominent young coach and recorded 73 wins and one NIT berth in his five seasons at West Point.

Following his departure from Army, Krzyzewski was then named head coach of the Duke Blue Devils, where he has garnered 926 wins over his 35 seasons in Durham. Since 1996, Duke’s basketball program has berthed an appearance in the NCAA Basketball Tournament each season. He has won four NCAA Tournaments overall, hoisting Championship trophies in 1991, 1992, 2001 and 2010.

While Sunday’s game at Madison Square Garden has the potential to be a monumental game, Duke tickets on TicketIQ remain one of the top-priced home tickets in college basketball this season. Over the team’s final six games, the secondary average for Duke tickets is $522.57. The Blue Devils will play their most expensive home game against Jim Boeheim and the Syracuse Orange on February 28, where the average price for Duke vs Syracuse tickets is $717.86 on the secondary market, 37.3% above season average.

With 999 wins under his belt, Coach K will look to add another landmark note to the history books when he claims his next victory this season. Expect Syracuse to put up a fight on their home court this weekend, however, as ticket prices surge on the secondary market for Sunday’s game.
