Aretha Franklin Announces Four North American Tour Dates
February 10, 2015
Fresh from scoring her highest-charting album in nearly 30 years, Aretha Franklin will head back out onto the road for a handful of North American dates spread out over the next three months.
The Queen of Soul, who reached No.13 on the Billboard 200 with her 38th studio effort, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, last October, will first take to the stage at Indio’s Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino on February 14 – tickets for which are still available on TicketIQ at a get-in price of $151.
The 19-time Grammy winner will then move onto Newark’s New Jersey Performing Arts Center on March 14 ($46) and Bridgeport’s Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard on Mar 20 ($100) before concluding her short trek at Charleston’s Clay Center on May 17.

The 72-year-old will no doubt be keen to showcase all the highlights from her current LP, including the cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” which gave her a record-breaking 100th hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
But Franklin’s run of 2014 shows also featured her sole number one single “Respect,” Top 10 hits “I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You),” “Chain of Fools” and “Until You Come Back To Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do),” and renditions of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” and Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher.”
