The Skate & Surf Festival will return to Asbury Park, New Jersey this May and bring some of alternative rock’s biggest names with it. Taking place between May 16 and 17, the Dropkick Murphys will headline the festival’s first day while Jersey natives The Gaslight Anthem highlight the second and final day.
Alongside the Dropkick Murphys, Thrice is scheduled to play after announcing a reunion show at this year’s Amnesia Rockfest in Australia in June. The festival’s opening day will also see performances by The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Motionless in White, Attila, Four Year Strong and Elder Brother. Defeater has also been posted onto Saturday’s extensive bill.
The second day will see Manchester Orchestra, The Front Bottoms, Hot Rod Circuit, Poison the Well, From Autumn to Ashes and Modern Baseball play. Much like Thrice, Acceptance will be making an anticipated return to the stage after nearly a decade-long hiatus. The band called it quits in 2006 but has decided to use Skate & Surf as a reunion platform.
