(UPDATE 2/2) Ringo Starr deserves to be vacationing in paradise after a monumental 2014, and now he’ll be sending postcards in the New Year. The former drummer for The Beatles has announced a new album, Postcards from Paradise, and a subsequent tour for 2015, which will culminate with the legendary performer's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in April.

Starr will hit the road on February 13 at the Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana and play 19 dates across the globe through March 15, where he wraps at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Alongside 10 U.S. dates, he'll also play in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Columbia and Mexico during his one-month tour stint. Postcards from Paradise will be released right after he wraps his tour on March 31.

Fresh from touring with his All Starr Support Band, Ringo Starr has now announced that tickets will soon go on sale for a run of shows in support of his forthcoming 17th solo album.

The former Fab Four drummer posted a video on his YouTube page this week in which he thanked fans for their support and revealed plans to hit the road in February/March to promote the self-produced follow-up to Ringo 2012.

Released through Universal Records sometime in 2015, the as-yet-untitled LP features collaborations with the likes of Peter Frampton, Richard Marx, Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, as well as his brother-in-law Joe Walsh, and has been described by the 74-year-old as a ‘mixed bag of pop, rock and reggae.’

Starr, who is due to receive the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Award for Musical Excellence at Cleveland’s Public Hall on April 18, spent much of 2014 touring with a backing group consisting of Toto’s Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Mr. Mister’s Richard Page, veteran session drummer Gregg Bissonette and original Santana singer Gregg Rolie.

It’s not yet clear whether the same array of musicians will be joining Starr this time around, but those with Ringo Starr tickets should definitely expect to hear some of the highlights from his latest record alongside the likes of his US solo number one “Photograph” and various Beatles classics such as “Yellow Submarine” and “With A Little Help From My Friends.”
