Tennessee Titans Not Raising Tickets Prices For 2015 Season

February 25, 2015

After raising season ticket prices by 19 percent last season, the Tennessee Titans will not increase season ticket prices for the 2015 season. Tennessee struggled last season as the team finished with a 2-14 record. Under first-year head coach Ken Whisenhunt, Tennessee struggled on both sides of the ball. Tennessee ranked among the bottom six teams in terms of total offense and total defense. Tennessee’s quarterback situation remains largely unsettled as the trio of Jake Locker, Charlie Whitehurst, and Zach Mettenberger was unable to will Tennessee’s offense last season. While Mettenberger is currently slated as the starter, he may not be a viable long-term option.

Tennessee has the second pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and will have the opportunity to select one of the two top quarterbacks. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota have commanded a lot of attention and as a quarterback-needy team like Tennessee may not bypass an opportunity at drafting a franchise quarterback. Whisenhunt is known for developing pocket passers, so Mariota may not be the right fit. Tennessee may opt to select one of the many defensive end prospects. USC’s Leonard Williams and Florida’s Dante Fowler Jr. are potential options.

Despite struggling last season, fans still showed up to support their team. According to TicketIQ, the average ticket price at LP Field was $120. Tennessee had the 8th lowest ticket prices despite being one of the worst teams in the league on the field. Entering the 2015 season, fans will want to see more from two of its young, dynamic playmakers. Running back Bishop Sankey and wide receiver Justin Hunter were underutilized last season, but each player possesses elite athleticism.  Mettenberger does throw a great deep ball and Hunter excels when given the opportunity to make big plays. Given Whisenhunt’s quarterback preferences, Tennessee may opt to select a defensive player in the 2015 NFL Draft. While expectations are not high for the 2015 season, Tennessee possesses some elite athletes and that provides hope for the future.
