Despite No Local Teams, Villanova and Notre Dame Drawing High Demand For NCAA Tournament Games In Pittsburgh
March 17, 2015
The Midwest and East regions will come together at the CONSOL Energy Center this week. The Pittsburgh-based venue will be the hosting site of Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2015 NCAA Tournament between Thursday and Saturday and will feature several of the tournament’s top-ranked teams. No local schools will be playing in Pittsburgh, but teams like Villanova and Notre Dame are still drawing big ticket demand in the Steel City.
In the Midwest region, No. 3 Notre Dame takes on No. 14 Northeastern in the first game on Thursday. No. 6 Butler follows with a game against No. 11 Texas. On Thursday evening, the East region will see No. 1 Villanova play No. 16 Lafayette and No. 8 NCST play No. 9 LSU.
Saturday will welcome Round 3 games between the winner of Game 1 (Notre Dame/Northeastern) and the winner of Game 2 (Butler/Texas) as well as Game 3’s winner (Villanova/Lafayette) against Game 4’s winner (NCST/LSU).
An All-Sessions Pass to Rounds 2 and 3 currently averages at $778.47 and the cheapest available pass is listed for $173. Interestingly enough, the CONSOL Energy Center will be the most expensive venue among all eight hosting sites in Rounds 2 and 3 despite lacking hometown representation.
