March 12, 2015

Teams have been set for the 2015 2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden. Duke, Wisconsin, Georgetown and VCU will take the court at Madison Square Garden on November 20 and 22. The 2K Classic has been one of the biggest preseason college basketball tournaments since 1995. From 1995 to 2011 the tournament was known as the Coaches vs Cancer Classic, but was changed to the 2K Sports Classic in 2012. A new Coaches vs Cancer Classic was established in 2012, held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

In 2014, 2K Sports Classic tickets had an average price of $96.57 on the secondary market. The semifinal doubleheader had an average price of $95.95 with a get-in price of $14, while the Championship and Consolation game doubleheader had an average price of $97.28 with a get-in price of $21. 2014’s participating teams were Texas, Iowa, Syracuse and California.

Each participating school in 2015 will host a pair of preliminary round games on its own campus before heading to New York. In the past, those schools further down the college basketball ranks. In 2014, the participating schools in the preliminary rounds were Alcorn State, Hampton, Kennesaw State and North Dakota State.

Exact matchups for the 2015 tournament have yet to be announced.
