(11/25/14) After an incredible twelve months, it’s little wonder that interest in tickets for Idina Menzel's forthcoming tour was so high that it crashed the star’s official website within half an hour of being announced.

In the last year alone, the 43-year-old has won the Best Original Song Academy Award (and famously had her name mispronounced by John Travolta), become the first Tony Award winner for acting to score a US Top 10 hit and achieved her first US Top 20 album with seasonal release Holiday Wishes.

Menzel will now hit the road for the first time since taking on the iconic role of Elsa in Disney phenomenon Frozen with a 2015 North American trek which kicks off at Richmond’s Altria Theater on July 7.

The Broadway star will then visit the likes of Atlanta’s Delta Classic Chastain Park Amphitheater on July 24, San Diego’s Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre on August 8 and Montreal’s Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place Des Arts on September 1 before wrapping up at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on October 3.
Fans with Idina Menzel tickets should look forward to hearing familiar showtunes from several of the musicals she’s appeared in, including “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, “Take Me or Leave Me” from Rent and of course, “Let It Go,” from Frozen.

But audiences at her recent one-off show at New York City’s Radio Music Hall were also treated to original material such as “Brave” and “Still, I Can’t Be Still” as well as covers of The Police’s “Roxanne,” Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” and U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

Idina Menzel tickets for next year’s tour are expected to go on sale next week. But in the meantime, fans can see her in action as Elizabeth in original production If/Then at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre up until January 4. If/Then tickets are available on TicketIQ for most of these shows, with the Dec 23 performance currently with the lowest get-in price at $145, and the Dec 27 date with the highest at $316.
