On Edge Of Playoffs, Hornets Tickets Averaging $145 For Remaining Home Games

March 26, 2015

Just a half game separated the four teams still competing for the No. 8 seed and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. That includes the Charlotte Hornets, who had a terrible start to their season by going 4-15 in their first 19 games.  The Hornets haven’t really turned it around, but have been playing at least .500 basketball since the month of December and are tied with the Brooklyn Nets at 10th place in the East. As the NBA regular season winds down, Charlotte has some important upcoming games that can determine the fate of their season with a meeting next Monday against the Boston Celtics and a matchup with the Indiana Pacers on April 3. To make the playoffs, there will be little room for error for the duration of the regular season.

According to TicketIQ, Hornets tickets have an average price of $145.94 on the secondary market across their remaining regular season home games.  Charlotte has six more home games to be played at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The most expensive game is their next home game scheduled for this Saturday against the best team in the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks.  Hornets tickets for this Saturday’s game vs Atlanta are going for an average price of $219.87 on the secondary market, with the least expensive ticket to get in priced at $29.

Overall, the Hornets have very affordable tickets on the secondary market for their remaining home games, but Hornets tickets for their game with the Hawks will see a premium of 50% compared to the Charlotte’s remaining regular season home average.

For the remaining season for the Hornets there will be a mixture of beatable opponents such as Detroit and Philadelphia, but also some tough games at home against the Toronto Raptors who the Hornets have beaten in their last two meetings. Their final home game will be against the Houston Rockets on April 13.
