Prince is taking some pointers from Garth Brooks. The “Purple Rain” rocker has announced the first date on his Hit and Run Tour with backing band 3rdEyeGirl, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky on May 14. No specific venue has been confirmed yet.
A similar approach was taken on his UK Hit and Run Tour last year, when fans were alerted by the news via Prince’s official Twitter page. Garth Brooks has done something similar over his Comeback World Tour, announcing dates little-by-little over several announcements.
Prince will be touring in support of his two 2014 albums Art Official Age and 3rdEyeGirl’s debut record Plectrumelectrum. Tickets for his May 14 show in Louisville go on sale Monday, March 9.
