Rolling Stones To Announce Possible North American Summer Tour

March 19, 2015

(UPDATE 3/19/15) A big announcement was scheduled for Thursday, but that has been postponed for now. The Rolling Stones hinted at releasing tour dates, but Thursday came and went with no such announcement. Billboards and a tweet hashtagged with #SatisfactionThursday made many believe the reveal would be coming, but that does not appear to be the case. There were some reports that a ticketing issue led to the delay in releasing the dates.
All hope is not lost, though, as there does appear to be tour planning in process and dates will likely be announced at a later date. The tour is also still expected to feature the band playing the Sticky Fingers album in its entirety.

(3/11/15) It looks like the Rolling Stones will be celebrating 1971’s Sticky Fingers in style this summer. Along with the re-issue of the monumental album, the iconic rock and rollers are slated to announce a 14-city North American tour sometime this week.

While no dates have officially been confirmed, various sources claim the band will begin its voyage across the country on May 24 in San Diego and will follow with a show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Other venues on the rumored tour itinerary include Colorado’s Red Rock Amphitheater and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Canadian tour stops will likely be included, though it’s not known just where yet.

In honor of Sticky Fingers, the Rolling Stones will supposedly play the record in its entirety on each upcoming tour date. The tour coincides with the release of Ron Wood’s 1965 tour diary, which is set to hit shelves in June.

The tour will exclusively hit stadiums and amphitheaters, venue sizes the beloved has been accustomed to since breaking into the scene in the early 1960s.

Make sure to check back here for all official dates as the band releases them to the public in the coming days.
