Top MLB Spring Training Tickets Of The Week (3/9)
March 10, 2015
The snow is finally start to melt and that only means one thing….Opening Day is right around the corner. Teams are practicing and playing exhibition games in Florida and Arizona before traveling north for the regular season. The top games this weekend will feature some hotly contested divisional rivalries and local, in-state battles. The top Spring Training games for this upcoming weekend are presented below:
3/13 - New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox | Avg. Price: $164.07 | Get-In Price: $62
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox both failed to make the playoffs last season. This is the first time neither team has made the playoffs in the last 20 years. Entering 2015, a lot of new faces will join this rivalry. Pablo Sandoval will be the main new participant while Alex Rodriguez and Hanley Ramirez will rejoin the fray. These two teams always engage in emotional battles, but expect a more laid back environment in Friday’s showdown.
3/14 - Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets | Avg. Price: $103.43 | Get-In Price: $26
The Washington Nationals will look to continue their dominance against the National League. The New York Mets, however, have added some new players and have welcomed back their ace, Matt Harvey. Washington will counter with their dynamic duo of Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg. Washington is a heavy favorite to repeat as division champs, but New York will be more competitive this season.
3/14 - San Francisco Giants vs. Oakland A’s | Avg. Price: $99.70 | Get-In Price: $40
A Bay Area battle will commence when the Giants and the A’s tangle for the first time in 2015. San Francisco will look to defend its World Series title while Oakland is still looking for its first World Series under Billy Beane. Both teams will have contend with tough divisional opponents from Los Angeles.
3/15 - St. Louis Cardinals vs. Minnesota Twins | Avg. Price: $99.22 | Get-In Price: $29
The St. Louis Cardinals have been mainstay atop the National League Central while the Minnesota Twins have fallen on hard time after a period atop the American League Central. St. Louis boasts one of the best collections of young talent while Minnesota’s farm system is stocked with top-end talent. Minnesota’s farm system may be a year away from promoting players, but Minnesota’s outlook is positive.
3/13 - Texas Rangers vs. San Diego Padres | Avg. Price: $95.53 | Get-In Price: $47
The San Diego Padres have had one of the busiest off-seasons in recent memory. San Diego traded for Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, and Wil Myers while signing James Shields to anchor its rotation. Expectations are high for San Diego. Texas received devastating news last week when learning Yu Darvish would likely have season-ending surgery. Texas’s line-up must carry even more of the burden in Darvish’s absence.
