2015 Bumbershoot Festival Lineup Features The Weeknd, Faith No More, Hozier, Ellie Goulding

(UPDATE 4/30/15) Seattle’s very own Bumbershoot Festival has announced its lineup 2015 lineup, and it’s bound to pack a punch. Revealed Wednesday morning, the lineup features a slew of music’s biggest names, including The Weeknd, Hozier and Ellie Goulding. The festival takes place on Labor Day Weekend, September 5-7, at the Seattle Center.

Among the dozens of performers set to grace the stage over the three-day engagement is also Chance the Rapper, Faith No More, Zedd, Bassnectar, Cake, Social Distortion, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Brandon Flowers, Kacey Musgraves and Minus the Bear.

The festival has been a staple in the Seattle music scene since its inception in 1971. More than 400,000 artists have played at the festival over its 45-year history, including memorable performances by Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and Bonnie Raitt.

Tickets are now on sale to the general public. Single-day passes are priced at $65 while three-day passes range between $149.50 and $209.50.

Wu-Tang Clan & Foster The People Headline 2014 Bumbershoot Festival

(5/13/14) Festivalgoers with Bumbershoot tickets for this year’s annual event can start looking forward to headline sets from reformed hip-hop outfit Wu-Tang Clan, post-punk pioneers The Replacements and indie-pop favorites Foster The People following the official announcement of the line-up for the Labor Day weekend bash.

Now in its 44th year, North America’s largest urban arts festival will once again return to the 74-acre Seattle Center on August 30 – September 1 for a celebration of the best in music, film, comedy, spoken word, dance, theatre and visual art.

Joining Wu-Tang Clan near the top of the bill on the Saturday are veteran singer-songwriter Elvis Costello and his backing band The Imposters, emo-rockers Panic! At The Disco, cult Ohio outfit The Afghan Whigs and soul legend Bobby Womack, while other names confirmed to appear include The Both, Danny Brown, Walk The Moon, Mac DeMarco, Sam Lachow, The Lonely Forest, Shelby Earl, Gregory Porter and Youngblood Hawke.

Funk icon Bootsy Collins, Los Angeles MC Schoolboy Q and Seattle’s very own indie-folk sextet, The Head and the Heart, will then take to the stage on the Sunday before The Replacements’ headline slot, as will the likes of Luscious Jackson, Los Lobos, The Dismemberment Plan, Kishi Bashi, Architecture in Helsinki, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Dream Syndicate, Schoolyard Heroes and Mission of Burma.

While alongside Grammy-nominated synth-pop duo Capital Cities, chart-topping rapper J. Cole and new wave quartet Neon Trees, fans with Bumbershoot tickets can also enjoy performances from Real Estate, Twin Shadow, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Julianna Barwick, The Reverend Horton Heat, Nada Surf and Jonathan Richman before Foster The People help draw the festival to a close.
