(UPDATE 4-23-2015) The Grizzlies will be taking a 2-0 series lead into Game 3 of a playoff series for the first time in franchise history. They will take that lead to the home of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Moda Center, when Game 3 tips off on Saturday night. The 0-2 hole, however, won’t stop the price of Trail Blazers tickets on the secondary market exceeding those from the first two games in Memphis. The average price for Games 3 and 4 is $167.99, 25% more expensive than the average from Games 1 and 2 at FedExForum.
2015 Grizzlies vs Trail Blazers Tickets Now 10% Higher at Moda Center than Fedex Forum
(UPDATE 4-20-2015) The Memphis Grizzlies had no problem putting away the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 of their first round NBA Playoffs series. The 100-86 win gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead as they prepare to host Game 2 at FedExForum on Wednesday night. Grizzlies playoff tickets for Game 2 have an average price of just $100.40. There’s not a high quantity of tickets when the series moves to Portland in Game 3, but Trail Blazers tickets are 10% more expensive than for games played in Memphis. Across Games 3, 4 and potentially 6, the average price for games at the Moda Center is $174.35.
The Portland Trail Blazers were able to win the Northwest division with 51 wins during the regular season. That assured them at least the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, however it did not get them home court advantage in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Thier opponent, the Memphis Grizzlies, had a superior regular season record in a division in which all five teams will be playoff participants. It is not surprising then that Grizzlies playoff tickets will be slightly more expensive on the secondary market.
On the secondary market, the average price across four potential home games at FedExForum is $163.69. That serves as a 31% premium above Memphis’ regular season average of $125 on the secondary market. That price was the 18th most expensive in the league over the course of the regular season. Prices for the opening series will be relatively inexpensive for the first two guaranteed games in Memphis, with average prices of $146.24 for Game 1 and $142.40 for Game 2. The combined average for those two games is just 15% higher than the regular season average.
Games played at FedExForum during this series are currently 16% more expensive than those to be played at Moda Center. Trail Blazers playoff tickets have an average price of $141.48 across three potential home games during the series.
The playoff average is 13% more expensive than the cost of Trail Blazers tickets during the regular season. However, the average price across the playoff games is aided by the Game 6 price coming in over $150. The average price for both Games 3 and 4 are currently below $140. The get-in price for Game 4 is just $45.
During the regular season, Memphis won all four games played against Portland by an average score of 102.3 to 93.8.
