Chris Brown To Launch Vegas Residency During Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Weekend

Recording R&B and hip-hop artist Chris Brown will be heading to Las Vegas to kick off his residency at the Drai’s Nightclub on May 2nd, the same night Floyd Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. So far, the 25-year-old singer has two shows scheduled at the prominent Sin City hotspot. His second show at the venue is will take place on July 4, according to Vibe magazine.

Brown recently wrapped his “Between the Sheets” Tour with co-headliners Trey Songz and Tyga late last month. The tour ran over three months and was initially met with turbulence; the “Loyal” singer’s probation stemming from assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and its accompanying 1000-hour community service task was not fulfilled, prompting Brown to reschedule a series of early shows on the itinerary.

He was also barred from Canada “due to immigration issues” in February. Alongside his show cancellations, Brown has made the rounds on the rumor mill in recent days, with multiple reports claiming that he fathered a love child with a woman named Nia Amey. News broke on Brown’s child while the singer was still in a relationship with his on-and-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran, and the model split with him after learning of the affair.

It’s been a restless period for Brown, but with his probation lifted and tour now over, he can focus on his new family and his upcoming stay in Vegas. Brown will also be a part of the Hot 97 Summer Jam lineup at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium June 7. The annual hip-hop festival will also feature performances from Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Trey Songz, Childish Gambino, Meek Mill and Fabolous.
