Arcade Fire & Kasabian Headline Glastonbury 2014

Six months after selling over 120,000 Glastonbury tickets in just 90 minutes, organisers of the UK’s biggest festival have finally started to reveal which acts will appear across its 100 stages, with Arcade Fire and Kasabian both confirmed as headliners.

Staged at Pilton’s Worthy Farm over the weekend of June 27-29, the 32nd annual event will see the Grammy winning six-piece top the bill on the Friday night and the British indie-rockers draw the festival to a close on the Sunday night with the Saturday night headliners, rumoured to be any one of Fleetwood Mac, Metallica and Prince, still yet to be announced.

Following last year’s line-up of The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons, founder Michael Eavis admitted that 2014 would be a step down in terms of the artists involved.

However, the 78-year-old farmer and his team have still managed to assemble an impressive list of names including country veteran Dolly Parton, who will take the traditional Sunday afternoon ‘Legends’ slot, alt-rock pioneers Pixies, who will play the festival for the first time since 1989, and former Mercury Prize winners Elbow and James Blake.

Continuing to cater for all tastes, fans with Glastonbury tickets can also look forward to sets from dubstep maestro Skrillex, R&B diva Kelis, rapper Angel Haze, flamenco duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, trip-hop duo Massive Attack, psychedelic rockers Temples and electro-pop outfit CHVRCHES with Lily Allen, Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey, Robert Plant, The Black Keys, Jack White, Disclosure, M.I.A. and Rudimental just some of the other big names scheduled to appear.

With hundreds more acts expected to be confirmed over the next few weeks, it’s little wonder that Glastonbury tickets remain some of the most in-demand on the festival circuit.
