Sasquatch! Music Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

(UPDATE -  6/18/14) Even though the Sasquatch! Music Festival is held 150 miles from Seattle, their Mayor, Ed Murray, has declared May 23rd, as a “day in honor” of the festival. May 23rd is also the opening day of the festival. Here's a quote from Mayor Murray, “Sasquatch! shares Seattle’s progressive commitments and dedication to civic participation, community engagement, and social justice,”

(UPDATE - 5/21/14) The second weekend of 2014 Sasquatch Music Festival has been cancelled.  Live Nation Seattle President, Jeff Trisler, issued a statement saying, “the second weekend was not embraced. We felt it was better to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Going forward, Sasquatch! Music Festival will be at the Gorge Amphitheatre on the weekend the fans want: Memorial Day Weekend only.”

Refunds will be made to anyone who had purchased tickets for the second weekend, which has artists like Soundgarden, Kraftwerk, and New Order scheduled to perform. Sasquatch! Music Festival tickets remain available for the first weekend. Also, several of the acts set to perform during the 2nd weekend have scheduled replacement shows in the Seattle area.

  • Kraftwerk will perform at the Paramount Theater on July 1st.
  • New Order will perform at the Paramount Theater on July 6th.
  • Sharon Van Etten and Courtney Barnett will perform at the Neptune Theater on July 5th.

Demetri Martin, Eugene Mirman, Night Beats, Sol, Kyle Dunnigan, Shelby Earl, Kongos, Chastity Belt, Iska Dhaaf, Pollens, Dude York, Sandrider, and Kithkin, Broken Bells, Jake Bugg, Rhye, and John Grant have been added to weekend one’s lineup.

....

The Sasquatch! Music Festival has announced the lineup for both of its featured weekends for 2014. The festival at the Forge Amphitheatre in George, Washington will have two separate weekends of music surrounding two different holidays. The first weekend will be May 23-25 around Memorial Day Weekend and the second will be July 4-6 for the Fourth of July. Keeping with their round of music festivals this summer, Outkast will headline Memorial Day Weekend. Other notable artists for the first weekend are The National, Queens of the Stone Age, Haim and Kid Cudi, along with many other big name musicians.

The real treat for many in the Seattle area, though, could be the Fourth of July weekend lineup. That will be headlined Soundgarden and will feature New Order, Frank Ocean, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tegan and Sara and Broken Bells. Seattle’s own Soundgarden has only one scheduled date in the US for the summer and it’s the Sasquatch Festival. The band will be playing in other countries from March to June, but will return to the States to headline Fourth of July weekend.

Sasquatch! Music Festival tickets have a presale on Thursday, February 6 for packages that include the individual weekends and a pass with both weekends included. Tickets for the general public go onsale on Saturday, February 8 for the same packages. As these tickets could sell out quickly, be sure to check TicketIQ for remaining tickets for the Northwest’s biggest music festival.
