Top Indie and Alternative Concert Tickets of the Week (5/25)

This week’s batch of top indie and alternative concerts kicks off on the 28th with a performance by electronic musician A.R. Rahman at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. On the 29th Neutral Milk Hotel will be at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California while The Bangles will play at the Troubadour that night in Hollywood, California. On the night of the 30th indie pop band Marina and the Diamonds will be at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Wrapping up of the week alternative veterans They Might Be Giants will perform at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on the 31st.

5/29 Neutral Milk Hotel at the Observatory - Limited Tickets Available

90’s indie rock legends Neutral Milk Hotel will stop this week on the 29th at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California. The band reunited a couple years ago to much fan excitement though this current stretch of show will reportedly be their last. Fans can expect to hear many hits of their 1998 album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea but also a couple songs off their first album On Avery Island. Fans can also catch the band at the Observatory North Park in San Diego, California.

 

5/30 Marina and the Diamonds at the House of Blues Cleveland - Limited Tickets Available

Indie pop singer Marina and the Diamonds will be at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio this week on the 30th. The singer from the U.K. most recently released her third album Froot back in March. The album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 charts thanks to the monthly release of the album’s 6 singles leading up to its release date. Fans in Ohio can also catch Marina and the Diamonds when they stop this week in Cincinnati at Bogart’s on the 29th.

 

5/28 A.R. Rahman at the Beacon Theatre - Avg. Ticket Price $186.27 | Get-in: $114

Indian singer and composer A.R. Rahman will be at the Beacon Theatre in New York City this week on the 28th. The show has an average ticket price of $186.27 and a lowest get-in price of $114. Most known stateside for the scores of the films Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, Rahman though most recently released a studio album Raunaq last year. The tour known as “The Intimate Concert” will also stop on the 27th in Newark, New Jersey at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).

 

5/29 The Bangles at the Troubadour - Avg. Ticket Price $156.63 | Get-in $92

80’s pop rock band The Bangles will be at the Troubadour in Hollywood, California this week on the 29th. The show has an average ticket price of $156.63 and a lowest get-in price of $92. The band last released an album in 2011 called Sweetheart of the Sun though are most known for their breakthrough album Different Light from 1986. Fans can expect to hear such hits as “Manic Monday” and “Walk Like an Egyptian”. The band will also play the Troubadour the next day on the 30th.

 

5/31 They Might Be Giants at the Music Hall of Williamsburg - Avg. Ticket Price $144.49 | Get-in: $29

Alternative rock duo They Might Be Giants will stop at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York this week on the 31st. The show has an average ticket price of $144.49 but fans will be able to find tickets for as low as $29. Comprised members John Flansburgh and John Linnell, the duo released Glean last month, their seventeenth record overall. A hometown show for the Brooklyn natives, They Might Be Giants will return to the Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 28th and July 26th.
