2015 Warriors vs. Grizzlies Playoff Tickets Are 17.2% Higher At Oracle Arena Than FedEx Forum

(4/30/15) The Golden State Warriors breezed through the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Pelicans played as well as they could and likely would have avoided a sweep against any other team, but the Warriors were just too good. Golden State will now look to the Memphis Grizzlies, their opponent in Round 2. Memphis defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in five games after taking a 3-0 lead to start the series.

Golden State will have home court advantage during the series, potentially hosting four home games. Warriors fans, however, apparently aren’t expecting the series to go that long. The secondary market average price for Warriors playoff tickets is $402.02 across all four games. However, the average price for Game 2 ($394.64) is more expensive than the average for Game 5 ($384.61). Game 5 would only happen if Golden State loses one of the first four, something that did not happen in the first round.

Golden State held the most expensive secondary market tickets during the regular season, but Memphis will hang with them for this series. Grizzlies playoff tickets have an average price of $343.03, just 14.67% cheaper than the games in Oakland. Games 3 and 4 have a combined average price of $372.90. Like the Warriors, the non-guaranteed game has a discounted price. The average for Game 6 is just $236.03 at FedExForum

Memphis and Golden State met three times during the regular season with the Warriors holding a 2-1 advantage. Memphis’ one win was at home on December 16, the first meeting between the two, by a score of 105-98.
