Jason Aldean Most Expensive, Miranda Lambert Least Expensive Headliners at 2015 Calgary Stampede

(UPDATE 7/1/15) The 2015 Calgary Stampede will kick off at the Stampede Grandstand this weekend. Set to run between July 3 and 12, this year’s rodeo will be highlighted by performances from Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Stevie Wonder. A significant demand exists for tickets on the secondary market, too, as the average secondary price for Calgary Stampede tickets over the 10-day affair is $180.92.
According to TicketIQ, Jason Aldean’s headlining gig on July 11 will be the most expensive individual day of the rodeo this year. The average price for July 11Calgary Stamped tickets is now $230.89 on the secondary market, 34.4% above the rodeo’s average price. The cheapest available ticket for that day is $77.
Stevie Wonder’s finale on July 12 will be the second top-priced day of the 2015 Rodeo. Tickets to that show currently average at $205.58 and the get-in price is $57. It will be the final show that owns a ticket average above $200 on the secondary market.
Blake Shelton will play the rodeo on July 10, which currently serves as the third most expensive day. Blake Shelton Calgary Stampede tickets now own a median price of $187.20 and the cheapest available starts at $57. Shelton’s wife and fellow performer Miranda Lambert is generating considerably lower demand on the secondary market, as tickets to her July 9 gig average at $116.14 and get-in price is $52.

Calgary Stampede Rodeo Tickets Are Averaging $179 On Secondary Market
(6/23/15) Billed as “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” the Calgary Stampede Rodeo is held annually in July in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The festival lasts for 10 days and brings in over one million visitors per year. The rodeo is not just a livestock show, it also features a parade, midway, concerts and chuckwagon racing. This year’s rodeo will start on July 3 and run through July 12.
On the secondary market, Calgary Stampede Rodeo tickets have an average price of $179.23 across all 10 days. The most expensive day will come on July 11 with an average price of $222.18 and a get-in price of $73. The least expensive will be the opening day with an average of $133.17 and a get-in price of $48. The rodeo portion starts every day at 1:15pm and holds events such as bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, tie down roping, saddle bronc and bareback riding.
Each night there will also be a portion of the Rangeland Derby. The “half-mile of hell” is a chuckwagon race that has grown to one of the biggest in the world. 36 teams now compete for $1.15 million in prize money across the week and a half event. The Rangeland takes place at the Stampede Grandstand and has separate ticketing for the events. The average price for Rangeland Derby tickets is $111.06 on the secondary market. The most expensive comes on the second to last day with an average of $156.89 and a get-in price of $91.
As part of the festivities, four big acts will play at the Scotiabank Saddledome during the rodeo’s run. In the past those artists have included such acts as Keith Urban, Katy Perry and Garth Brooks. This year Miranda Lambert (July 9), Blake Shelton (July 10), Jason Aldean (July 11) and Stevie Wonder (July 12) will be the performers. The four performances have a combined average of $164.02. The most expensive show is currently Shelton’s with an average price of $289.49 with a get-in price of $170.
