City and Colour Announce New Album ‘If I Should Go Before You’, 2015 USA Tour Dates
July 28, 2015
Dallas Green has spent a large portion of his 2015 devoted to Alexisonfire’s short batch of reunion shows, but the tattooed crooner isn’t stopping there. On Monday Green revealed plans for his new album under City and Colour, his solo project moniker that has gained momentum with each subsequent release since its inception in 2004. If I Should Go Before You, the band's fifth studio full length, will drop on October 9 via Dine Alone Records.
C&C released the lead single “Woman” late last week, prompting fans to believe that details on the new album were imminent. A nine-minute power jam overlayed with driving guitars and Green’s silky smooth vocals, “Woman” will likely set the pace for another album fueled by a full-band. The 34-year-old has continued to raise the volume knob and include the use of drums with each record since 2005’s debut full-length Sometimes, a stripped down record featuring just Green and his guitar.
The band will tour the record in the U.S. beginning in the fall. 18 shows are scheduled between November and December following the band’s August 3 appearance at the George Street Festival in Newfoundland, Canada. More dates will be announced as the album’s release date draws closer.
There has been a revolving door of touring members with each new release, so expect a lineup change during the run for “If I Should Go Before You”. The band has most recently been helmed by Jack Lawrence (bass), Doug MacGregor (drums), Matthew Kelly (pedal steel) and Dante Schwebel (guitar).
