Friday in Connecticut Marks Cheapest Date On Primus & Dinosaur Jr Joint Tour

(UPDATE 7/16/15) The joint bill of Primus & Dinosaur Jr is enough to make any alt-rock aficionado scream, and luckily those same flannel wearers won't have to pay a pretty penny to get their fuzz on and bounce with the bass of Les Claypool.

Looking at the secondary market, only one date carries an average ticket price above $100, July 25th at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion with an average ticket price of $104.05. On the opposite end, this Friday night at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Connecticut is the cheapest date of the tour with a $47 average ticket price and get-in of just $23.

Primus Extend “Chocolate Factory” Tour Into September

(UPDATE 5/14/15) Primus may have Too Many Puppies, but the band can’t have enough tour dates. The hard rock/funk group recently announced additional fall shows on top of an already-extensive spring and summer tour in support of Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, its eighth studio release.  Slated to tour North American with alt-rock friends Dinosaur Jr. in July and August, Primus will now extend their run through September.

14 more dates have been added to the itinerary between September 1 and 19. The fall run kicks off at Modesto Center Plaza in California and will wind through the U.S. and Canada until the 19th, when it wraps at Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Notable stops along the way include The Joint in Las Vegas, Revolution Center in Boise, Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary and Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville.

Primus’ “Chocolate Factory” Tour Owns $109 Ticket Average on Secondary Market

(UPDATE 4/23/15) Primus is currently on tour in support of its latest studio release, 2014’s Primus and the Chocolate Factory. The band will continue its solo stint around the U.S. through May before heading out to Europe for a tour leg in June. Later this summer, they’ll join alt-rock pioneers Dinosaur Jr on a North American leg from July to early-September. Over all upcoming N.A. tour dates, the average price for Primus tickets is $109 on the secondary market.

The band will play its most expensive show on May 3 at the Strand Theatre in Los Angeles, where secondary tickets average at $210.07 and get-in price starts at $73.15. Their cheapest date will be with Dinosaur Jr on August 7. That show currently owns an average secondary price of $61.50 and get-in price starts at $55.

(6/2/14) Always one for the eccentric, Primus frontman Les Claypool has gotten the classic lineup back together for a new album and tour themed around “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. The album will be available on October 21st and will be the first effort of this incarnation of Primus since 1995.

After a handful of dates in September, the album-support tour kicks off the next night at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA and concludes November 21st at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. The highlight of the schedule comes Halloween night at New York's Beacon Theatre. Available Primus tickets are below

San Francisco funk rock outfit Primus is playing a small string of shows at the end of June in the northeast and then are going on a short tour in September in the midwest. Led by eccentric bassist and singer Les Claypool, Primus has been a cult favorite since their debut album Frizzle Fry in 1990 and most recently Green Naugahyde in 2011.

Embarking on June 24th in Port Chester, New York at the Capitol Theatre (40 minutes north of Manhattan).On June 25th Primus heads north to Portland, Maine at the State Theatre and hits New Jersey at Asbury Park on June 28th. After almost a three month long break Primus will play Myth the Nightclub in Maplewood, Minnesota. The band then heads to Fargo, North Dakota to play the Venue on September 16th and then to Clive, Iowa on September 17th to play the 7 Flags Event Center. The secondary market average for these shows is $96.98, not bad for band who is only playing a very small amount of shows this year.

Fans in the Denver area can catch Primus on the weekend of September 19th, 20th, and 21st at Riot Fest Denver. There the band will share the stage with other musicians such as The Cure, The National, and Sublime with Rome. 3 day passes are available starting at $159.98.
