(UPDATE 7/2/15) There might not be a more heartbreaking way to end a match, but an unfortunate own-goal in the 92nd minute put Japan into the Women’s World Cup Final over England. Japan will now take on the United State in a rematch of the 2011 World Cup Final. Japan won the 2-2 match in a penalty shootout. With the US playing so close to home, and holding the second-longest shutout streak in World Cup history, ticket prices are rising on the secondary market for the July 5 match on July 5. The current average price for Women’s World Cup Final tickets is $715.98 with a get-in price of $347. The US will be a heavy favorite, but has not won a World Cup since 1999.

2015 Women's World Cup Final Tickets Averaging Over $400 On Secondary Market

(UPDATE 6/29/15) The Women’s World Cup Final won’t be played until July 5, but it’s possible the unofficial winner will be decided in a semifinal match on Tuesday night. The United States and Germany will square off in the semifinals on June 30 at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. The US and Germany are the two best teams remaining in the tournament, with an overwhelming advantage going to the winner of the match in the final. Despite that, US vs Germany tickets have fallen in price on the secondary market. The current average is $98.93 and the get-in price is only $39.

Wednesday’s semifinal between Japan and England is more expensive, but with significantly less tickets available. The current average is $133.13 with a get-in price of $44 for the match at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

Women’s World Cup Final tickets have an average price of $410.99 with a get-in price of $138. The match will be held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on July 5.

(UPDATE 6/24/15) The Women’s World Cup is down to the final eight countries. The Round of 16 concluded on Tuesday when Japan defeated the Netherlands 2-1. The Quarterfinals are scheduled to start on Friday, June 26. On the secondary market, Women’s World Cup tickets have an average price of $167.63 for the four quarterfinal matches. The US women will be playing on the opening Friday night against China. USA vs China tickets are the most expensive of the round and currently the second most expensive match remaining in the tournament after the Final. The current average price is $410.71 with a get-in price of $265. No other quarterfinal match has an average over $300.

(UPDATE 6/19/15) Group Play in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup has come and gone. With the conclusion of Wednesday’s games, 16 countries remain. Round of 16 games will start on Saturday with two matches, Germany vs Sweden and China PR vs Cameroon. On the secondary market, Round of 16 tickets have an average price of $123.89. After winning Group D, the US will play Cameroon in their Round of 16 game on Monday. The match will be played at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. The current average price for USA vs Cameroon tickets is $157.18, 26.8% above the round average, with a get-in price of $54. The winner of that match will play the winner of China PR and Cameroon. That match in the quarterfinals has an average price of $281.90 on June 26 with a get-in price of $111. Match 45 will be played at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa.

The US will play Nigeria at BC Place Stadium, the site of the Women’s World Cup Final. Entering the match, the US is in the lead of Group D with four points, while Nigeria sits in fourth with just one point. Nigeria has yet to win a match, playing to a loss and a draw. US vs Nigeria tickets will not be too expensive on the secondary market with an average price of $74.15. The get-in price is only $18. Only one other final Group Play match, England vs Colombia at Olympic Stadium has a less expensive cost.

USWNT tickets are at a premium on the secondary market due to low inventory for Monday night’s match. The current average price is $252.19 with a get-in price of $183. Admission also includes a match between Sweden and Nigeria, the two other countries in Group D. The next US match will be played against Sweden on June 12. The first matches will be Canada against China and New Zealand against the Netherlands at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. The current average price for Matches 1 and 2 is $291, due mostly to the home country premium. Overall the secondary market average price for Group Play is $93.07. The United States does not play until June 8 against Australia. The three US matches during Group Play have a combined average price of $110.21, 18.4% above the stage average. The most expensive US match comes on June 16 against Nigeria at BC Place Stadium with an average of $129.53.

USA WMNT vs. South Korea Tickets For World Cup Send-off Are Averaging Almost $90 Per Seat On Resale Market

(5/27/15) In the final Send-Off Series match before the start of the World Cup, the US Women’s National Team will play South Korea at Red Bull Arena. Saturday’s match will be the last for the US before heading north to Winnipeg, Canada for the start of the Women’s World Cup on June 6.

Since the beginning of February, the USWNT has been playing warm up matches for the World Cup all across the world. They’ve completed three Send-Off Series games on US soil in St. Louis, San Jose and Los Angeles. The US is 3-0 in those games, outscoring opponents 12-1. The only goal allowed against the US came in the most recent game, May 17 against Mexico.

Saturday’s game in Newark is nearly sold out, which has led to some high demand on the secondary market. The current average price for United States vs Korea Republic tickets is $88.83 with a get-in price of $45. When tickets went on sale, the cheapest ticket at face value was listed at $36.

The $88.83 average is currently more expensive than two of the USWNT’s three first round matches during the World Cup. The overall average price for Women’s World Cup tickets for US matches is $78.61. The first US match for the World Cup is on June 8 against Australia at Investors Group Field.
