5 Seconds Of Summer To Open For One Direction

Many of you already know about the British pop band One Direction who rose to fame through a grassroots marketing campaign on Twitter and Facebook. Since this worked so well there is now another band trying to copy One Directions winning formula, that would be the Australian pop band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) who just released their single “She Looks So Perfect” earlier on iTunes which went to #1 in 39 countries.

There can be no denying that 5 Seconds of Summer’s popularity has been greatly influenced by One Direction who have been quick to praise the pop band and have even helped them reach a larger audience by tweeting out links to their songs on Youtube. Additionally 5SOS were once again chosen to open up for 1D on their upcoming North American leg of the Where We Are tour later this summer after doing such a great job the year before on One Direction’s Take Me Home World Tour. One Direction’s Where We Are tour will travel to 31 cities across the United States and Canada from August to October and is presently averaging $280 for tickets to see two of the hottest groups in the world at the same time.

Aside from going on tour with their British counterparts later this summer 5 Seconds of Summer will be headlining their own tour in America in April. 5SOS will be embarking on a monthlong tour stopping in 10 cities along the way to play their own songs for fans. This tour may not be as big as the Where We Are tour but that hasn’t stopped fans from lining up for tickets which has caused prices to significantly increase. 5SOS has had such a demand for tickets that prices for their mini-tour are comparable to that of One Directions as they are averaging $253. At such similar prices it would make sense for fans to just wait until later this year to see 5 Seconds of Summer and One Direction together but if either way you can find 5SOS tickets and One Direction tickets here.
