(UPDATE 9/16/15) Canceling her joint “Charli and Jack Do America” Tour with Bleachers late last month hasn’t affected Charli XCX’s plans for jumping into the studio. The 23-year-old U.K. native cited fatigue for her abrupt cancellation and claimed that the extended run was affecting her creative process. However, nearly a month removed from the road has given Charli some head space, and the singer is finding influence in the materialistic things in life.
““I’ve been really inspired by Paris Hilton, small dogs and a glitter, luxe lifestyle,” Charli said in a recent interview with The Mirror. “I’ve never met Paris before, but we were both at the amFAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival this year. I was performing and I saw her singing along to my song and I freaked out. I’m such a fan and one of my favorite songs ever is ’Stars Are Blind’ – it’s pop genius.”
Charli goes on to exclaim that her forthcoming record will be “the most electronic pop sound” she’s had in her solo career. The album will be her fourth studio effort since beginning her solo career in 2008.
