2015 ALDS Tickets For Royals vs Astros Are 53% More Expensive In KC Than Houston

With a 3-0 win over the New York Yankees, the Houston Astros advanced to the American League Divisional Series. The Astros will play last year’s American League representative in the World Series, the Kansas City Royals, who also finished the season with the AL’s best record. The series will start at Kauffman Stadium on Thursday will Game 1 beginning at 7:30pm Eastern.
While the Royals did make the playoffs last year, and came within a play of possibly winning the World Series, excitement is still high in Kansas City for the opening round. Royals tickets have an average price of $307.08 across the three potential games of the series. Without including the possible Game 5, Royals tickets have an average of $256.95 over the guaranteed first two games. Game 1 has an average price of $243.92 with a get-in price of $107. Game 2 is the most expensive of the guaranteed games with an average of $277.12 and a get-in price of $113. When the series shifts to Houston, only one game will have an average above $200, which is Game 3 at $214.19 and a get-in price of $66.
During the regular season, the Royals and Astros played each other six times. Houston actually had the upper hand in the season series, winning four of those games, which included a three-game sweep in Houston from June 29 to July 1. Later in July, though the Royals won two of three games in Kansas City.
