Cubs NLDS Tickets vs Cardinals Are Most Expensive Since At Least 2010
October 8, 2015
With a dominant Wild Card Game victory, the Chicago Cubs are on to the National League Divisional Series. They’ll take on rivals from the National League Central, the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis finished the regular season with the best record in baseball and the Cubs, despite playing in the Wild Card Game, were third. Chicago’s opponent, the Pittsburgh Pirates, had the second best record. Between the rivalry of the two teams and the time since the Cubs have seen postseason success, this will be the most expensive NLDS tickets TicketIQ has tracked on the secondary market.
Three games will be played at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, and Cardinals tickets have a combined average price of $362.88. That’s a more expensive average than any team playing in the Divisional round, except for the Mets and their opponents. The current average price for Cubs tickets across Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS is $660.64, the most expensive home average since at least 2010 for an LDS series on the secondary market. The cheapest ticket for each game at Wrigley Field starts with a price above $250. For Game 3, the get-in price is $276, while the get-in for Game 4 (if necessary) is $256.
As division rivals, the Cardinals and Cubs played each other 19 times during the regular season. St. Louis won 11 of the games, outscoring the Cubs 84-79. The series will start Friday evening in St. Louis.
