(UPDATE 10/20/15) Overwhelming ticket demand has forced hard rockers Iron Maiden to add a second show at The Forum in Los Angeles on April 16. The band was initially scheduled to perform just once on April 15 but have tacked on a second SoCal show to their massive "Book of Souls" Tour. Tickets for the newly-added show go on sale to the general public beginning this Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.com.
Like many other dates, Iron Maiden will again adopt the paperless ticket entry for The Forum gigs. This bars scalpers and bots from raking in a large number of tickets with the intention of reselling at a higher value than face price. Those who purchase the tickets must show both the ticket and credit card used to purchase upon entry to the venue.
Iron Maiden Announce First U.S. ‘Book of Souls’ Tour Dates
Iron Maiden have released the first batch of 2016 U.S. dates along their “Book of Souls” World Tour. The seminal heavy metal band will kick things off in late-February, playing nine gigs across the country before heading to Australia for a string of dates in April and May. More North American shows will be announced soon.
The tour officially launches on February 24 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. From there it will head to Tulsa’s BOK Center on February 26 before hitting Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center on February 28. Other notable dates include Madison Square Garden on March 30, Chicago’s United Center April 6 and the Pepsi Center in Denver on April 13. It winds down its first U.S. jaunt two days later at The Forum in Los Angeles.
A special ticket presale will be available to Iron Maiden fan club members beginning Tuesday, October 6 at 10 am local time. A Live Nation presale will begin on Thursday, October 8. The general public will have access to tickets starting on Saturday, October 10 at 10 am local time.
The band will once again incorporate the paperless ticketing plan, which aims to thwart secondary market scalpers from reselling tickets. Those who purchase tickets at select dates will be advised of a “Credit Card Only” entry in which the credit card used to purchase those tickets will be scanned by the venue’s usher for access. A valid I.D. will also be needed to enter the show. Such a scheme discourages the transferring of tickets and ultimate reselling for inflated prices.
