Prices Dropping For 2016 NBA All-Star Game Tickets, But Still Averaging Over $2,000 on Secondary Market

(UPDATE 2/11/16) The NBA's best players will gather in Toronto this weekend for the 2016 All-Star Game, and for those still trying to get tickets to the big game on Sunday, prices are beginning to drop on the secondary market.
According to TicketIQ the average price for 2016 NBA All-Star Game tickets on the secondary market is currently $2,116.19, marking a 27.8% drop from last Wednesday's average of $2,932.36. This year's game is now the third most expensive All-Star Game on average since 2011, when TicketIQ began tracking secondary market data. 2011's game at Staple Center owned an average price of $2,485.57 while 2013's game at Toyota Center averaged a $2,620.48 ticket.

If looking to just get past the turnstile at Air Canada Centre this Sunday, the cheapest 2016 NBA All-Star Game tickets are listed for $745 each. That is 28.7% cheaper than last week's get-in price of $1,045. Those tickets honor seats in Section 308, Row 7.
The All-Star action will kick off on Friday night at Ricoh Coliseum, which hosts the All-Star Celebrity Game. Tickets for the exhibition game, which will feature the likes of Drew and Jonathan Scott, Tracy McGrady, Rick Fox, Jason Sudeikis, Anthony Anderson and Elena Delle Donne, start from $165 on the resale market. Air Canada Centre will then host the All-Star Rising Stars challenge later that night, where tickets can be found for $62.
Saturday will welcome a trio of events in the All-Star Practice and NBA D-League All-Star Game at Ricoh Coliseum followed by All-Star Saturday Night at Air Canada Centre. NBA All-Star Practice tickets, which grant access to the players' warmups before Sunday's game, have a current get-in price of $114. Featuring a slew of events on Saturday, including the beloved 3-Point and Slam Dunk Contests, NBA All-Star Saturday Night tickets start from $349 on the secondary market.

Excluding this year's game, only two other All-Star games have exceeded the $2,000 average since 2011. Prior to this year 2013's game at Toyota Center in Houston was the most expensive, with an average price of $2,620.48 and a $575 get-in price. 2011's game at Staples Center in Los Angeles also surpassed the $2,000 plateau at an average price of $2,485.57 and a $375 get-in price.
