2016 Beyoncé Tour Announced, Tickets On Sale Feb. 16
(ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 2/9/16) Following a surprise single release and an appearance in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, Beyoncé immediately announced she'll be hitting the road for a world tour. Only 22 North American dates have been announced for the 2016 Beyoncé tour, but there will likely be more announced at a later date.
The Formation Tour, as the trek will be called, is scheduled to start April 27 and for now will run through June 12, hitting some of the biggest stadiums in North America. The first stop will be Marlins Park in Miami on April 27 with the last of the current scheduled shows set to hit Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania.
Tickets for the 2016 Beyoncé tour will start with a pre-sale for American Express cardholders and BeyHive fan club members on February 9, and the general onsale will be held a week later on February 16.
Beyoncé last toured in 2014 for the On the Run Tour with her husband, Jay-Z. That tour hit many of the stadiums Beyoncé will hit on her own during the Formation Tour and the average price across the 20 North American shows was $221.14 on the secondary market. Beyoncé's last solo tour came in 2013 for the Mrs. Carter World Tour, which hit arenas in North America. The 27-date arena tour saw an average price of $324.46 on the secondary market, though of course the smaller capacity in arenas opposed to stadiums were a cause for that high price.
