Top NHL Games of the Week (2/1)
February 1, 2016
From Wookies and Jagr impressions to John Scott’s MVP performance, the NHL’s All-Star Weekend left nothing to the imagination in Nashville. The Pacific division took home the title in the league’s newest All-Star Game format, and was largely assisted by Scott and his two goals. Attention will now shift back to the final two months of the regular season as the playoff picture slowly begins to take shape through mid-April.
Below are this week’s top NHL games by ticket price on the secondary market, according to TicketIQ:
2/04/16 Minnesota Wild @ New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $240.49 | Get-in: $90
The New York Rangers had a rollercoaster first half, but a dominant four-week stretch to begin the season has allowed them to remain well in the hunt for a playoff berth. They’ll host the struggling Minnesota Wild at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, where the average price for New York Rangers tickets on the secondary market is $240.49. If looking just to get past the gates the cheapest ticket is listed for $90.
2/06/16 Calgary Flames @ Vancouver Canucks | Avg. Price: $222.76 | Get-in: $67
At 20-19-11 the Vancouver Canucks will need to make a dominant run in the second half of the season if they hope to clinch a postseason berth, but their mediocre play hasn’t dissuaded a strong demand for tickets on the resale market. They’ll host the Calgary Flames on Saturday, where Vancouver Canucks tickets against the Flames average $222.76 on the secondary market. The get-in price starts from $67.
2/02/16 New York Rangers @ New Jersey Devils | Avg. Price: $221.06 | Get-in: $101
The Rangers will again appear on this week’s list when they travel down the New Jersey Turnpike to face the Devils at Prudential Center on Tuesday night. Expect to pay big for the crosstown rivalry, however, as New Jersey Devils tickets for Tuesday’s game against the Rangers average $221.06 and the get-in price is $101 on the secondary market. The Devils are well in the postseason hunt with a 25-20-5 record and could gain considerable ground on the Rangers with a regulation win on Tuesday.
2/06/16 Chicago Blackhawks @ Dallas Stars | Avg. Price: $216.69 | Get-in: $77
It has been a difficult 10-game stretch for the Dallas Stars, who have gone just 3-6-1 over that time and coughed up the top spot in the Western Conference to the surging Chicago Blackhawks. The two teams will battle at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday, which appears as the fourth most expensive game in the NHL game this week. Dallas Stars tickets to Saturday’s game against the Blackhawks currently average $216.69 and the get-in price is $77.
2/06/16 Buffalo Sabres @ Boston Bruins | Avg. Price: $204.11 | Get-in: $92
Rounding out this week’s top NHL games list is a Saturday affair between the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden. The Bruins look to break from the middle of the tight-knit Atlantic division, which currently hosts four top teams within six points of one another. The average secondary market price for Boston Bruins tickets at TD Garden against the Sabres is now $204.11 and the cheapest ticket is listed for $92. The Sabres again find themselves looking to avoid the cellar of the Atlantic, which is currently occupied by the 17-22-9 Toronto Maple Leafs.
