The Smashing Pumpkins Announce 2016 'In Plainsong' Tour Dates, Tickets On Sale This Friday
(ORIGINALLY POSTED 2/4/16) The Smashing Pumpkins used much of 2015 to tour North America, both with Marilyn Manson on the joint "End Times" Tour and the electro-acoustic "In Plainsong" Tour. A similar recipe appears to be in order this year, as the band has revealed a 20-date tour through the U.S. and Canada set for the spring.
The 2016 In Plainsong Tour kicks off on March 22 at Schnitzer Hall in Portland and winds down four weeks later with a final performance at Houston's Cullen Performance Hall on April 20. Tickets to all upcoming shows go on sale this Friday, February 5 at 9 a.m. via Ticketmaster. A special fan club and Citi cardholder pre-sale is now availalble through tonight at 10 p.m.
The band has stated that they will release "a new recording" following the conclusion of their spring run, though it is unknown whether a full album is in the works. They'll continue to tour in support of Monuments to an Elegy, their latest record that was released in 2014.
