Roots Picnic Will Expand to New York City in October

June 7, 2016

It's been a long time in the making, and The Roots have officially booked their very own New York City-based music festival. The R&B and jazz-infused band have announced the first-ever "Roots Picnic", which will run in Midtown Manhattan's Bryant Park between October 1 and 2.

Among the exhaustive list of performers set to grace the stage across the two-day festival include D'Angelo, John Mayer, David Byrne and Nile Rogers. The festival will not be void of New York icons as well, with Wu-Tang Clan, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia and Jeremih.

The festival has been created out of The Roots' annual festival in their native Philadelphia, which has run each summer since 2007. The Philly-based festival has found mounting success with each successive year, hosting A-list performers like Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Usher and De La Soul.

Roots Picnic NYC tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m. via Tickmaster. View the complete list of artists scheduled to perform in Bryant Park below:
