August 26, 2016
Emo legends American Football have announced a new album, as well as a handful of tour dates to support its release. The forthcoming debut, American Football (LP2), marks the band's first release in 17 years, and is due out on October 21 via Polyvinyl Records. In additional to the American Football tour announcement, the band shared the album's first single, "I've Been So Lost for So Long," on August 23.
Although the newly announced dates just include four stops (Chicago, New York, London, and Los Angeles), its likely the band will add cities and stops as the dates draw closer. Tickets for American Football went on sale Friday, August 26, and are available on the resale market.
American Football hit the road for just a handful of dates in 2014, playing three shows in New York City, two in San Francisco, two in Los Angeles, and four final dates in the band's home city of Chicago. All shows sold out rapidly, and the group's latest tour is expected to follow suit.
American Football is best known for their landmark album, American Football, which they released in 1999. Over the years, the album has gained cult status among music fans and critics.
