The final pieces of the 2016 MLB postseason picture were cemented on Sunday, with the wild-card race in each league coming down to the very last day of the regular season. In the American League, the Orioles travel north to face the Blue Jays on Tuesday night. The following night, a pitching duel will commence between the Mets' Noah Syndergaard and Giants southpaw Madison Bumgarner.
And for fans with expectations of attending the NL wild-card game at Citi Field, they'll be paying record prices for MLB playoffs tickets on the secondary market.
2016 NL wild-card game tickets are now averaging $314 on TicketIQ. That makes it the most expensive wild-card game since 2012, when the one-game wild-card playoff was introduced. It surpasses last year's NL game between the Pirates and Cubs at PNC Park, which owned a then-record-setting ticket average of $265. If looking just to get past the gates at Citi Field on Wednesday night, the cheapest tickets are listed from $169 each in Section 533.

Tuesday's game between the Blue Jays and Orioles also cracks the top five most expensive wild-card games. As it stands now the average resale price for tickets at Rogers Centre is $225. The cheapest ticket to that game is now $103 in Section 544.

Tuesday's winner will go on to face the Rangers in the ALDS, which begins on Thursday at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The Mets or Giants will move on to face the Cubs in the NLDS beginning on Friday night at Wrigley Field. The remaining matchups pit the Indians against the Red Sox in Cleveland starting Thursday while the Nationals and Dodgers clash at Nationals Park on Friday.
