Green Day, Kings of Leon to Headline KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2016
November 15, 2016
Green Day, Kings of Leon, Weezer and countless other alternative-rock acts have been announced as major performers at this year's KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas concerts in Los Angeles. The concerts will take place on December 10 and 11 at The Forum in Inglewood. Other acts include Jimmy Eat World, AFI, Bastille, the Head and the Heart, M83, X Ambassadors, Phantogram, Grouplove, the Strumbellas, Bishop Briggs and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.
Tickets for Almost Acoustic Christmas went on sale Friday, and have now completely sold out, forcing fans in L.A. to rely strictly on the resale market. For Saturday, December 10, resale tickets are currently averaging $167, with the cheapest ticket priced at $104. On Sunday, December 11, resale tickets are averaging $171, with the cheapest ticket up for grabs for $96.
Proceeds will benefit two Los Angeles-based foundations: Para Los Niños, and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.
Over the years, KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas has seen massive headlining names. Although resale ticket prices have generally declined since 2011, 2016's lineup is pushing prices on the market. As of now, 2012 still remains the concert's biggest year, thanks to help from headliners Linkin Park, Bush, and Rise Against. Below is an infographic that details KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas ticket prices through the years.
