Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Plot 40th Anniversary Tour for 2017
December 19, 2016
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have announced the dates for a massive 40th Anniversary tour, slated to launch in North America this spring. The trek will kick off on April 20 in Oklahoma City and will hit 35 dates before wrapping on July 27 at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released their self-titled debut album in November of 1976 and launched their first tour that year as well, and so the band will hit the road to commemorate the 40th anniversary of both massive milestones.
Tickets for the majority of the shows went on sale December 16, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Highway Companions Club fan members were allowed a pre-sale on the 14th.
On the resale market, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tickets are rising in price, currently averaging $246 across all scheduled dates. As it stands, the band's priciest show is on schedule to be their May 29 & 30th stops at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, where tickets are averaging $519 and $502 respectively,
