The 90th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be held at Progressive Field, which will celebrate its 25th season as a ballpark in 2019. The Cleveland, Ohio stadium, which was renovated a couple times over the last three years, currently holds 35,225. When Progressive Field was known as Jacobs Field, it held the 1997 All-Star Game for the eventual American League Champion Indians; in 2016, Cleveland won its league for the first time since 1997.

Since 2010, the average tickets for three different MLB All-Star Games topped $850. The highest priced of the contests came in 2013 when the New York Mets’ Citi Field hosted the All-Star Game, which had tickets averaging $883. The most expensive get-in price of the games was 2015’s one at the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park, which had tickets starting at $315. However, the least expensive MLB All-Star Game came when the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field hosted the exhibition in 2011; tickets started at $55 and averaged $351. No other All-Star Game since 2010 had a get-in price lower than $196.

The Indians will host the MLB All-Star Game for a record sixth time in franchise history. Cleveland hosted the third Midsummer Classic in league history at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1935. The team then went on to host the 1954, 1963, and 1981 All-Star Games at the same stadium. The last of which had an MLB All-Star Game record attendance of 72,086.
