Previewing Prices for 2017 NCAA Tournament Tickets: East Region

msg

The road to the Final Four in the East region goes through Madison Square Garden in New York City. While Sweet 16 and Elite 8 action will be
held at the World’s Most Famous Arena, sub-region action for Rounds 1 and 2 will be played in Buffalo, Orlando, Greenville and Tulsa. The top four teams in the East region are Villanova, Duke, Baylor, and Florida.

Villanova, the defending NCAA Champion, will have its work cut out with six of the Top-14 teams in the Kenpom rankings residing in this region. In Round 1 and 2 action, Greenville, South Carolina commands the highest average ticket prices, which isn’t too surprising given the teams that will be playing there. In fact, Greenville features Duke and South Carolina in the East region and North Carolina in the South region.

On TicketIQ, the get-in prices for NCAA Tournament East Region tickets for the Greenville region start at $234. Meanwhile, Sweet 16 action at Madison Square Garden starts on March 24 and a pass for all three games starts at $385 each. Potential Sweet 16 matchups could be Villanova vs. Florida and Duke vs. SMU. A Villanova vs. Duke East final could command all-time ticket highs.

Villanova has talent and experience on its side, but will have to win three tough games to get back to the Final Four. Duke, the ACC Tournament champion, just won four games in four days to win the tournament, and that’s one of the reasons why the Blue Devils are one of the odds-on favorites to win it all despite being a No. 2 seed. Duke is peaking at the right time, but only time will tell whether they can carry its hot play as of late over into the NCAA Tournament.
